Gemini for small business owners is getting its own set of tools. On 21 October 2026 Google announced a business landing page inside the Gemini app, links to Google Business Profile, Google Ads and outside apps such as Canva, Shopify and Zoho, a saved brand style for marketing images, and help turning spreadsheets and receipts into financial charts. This update explains what was announced, what is still unclear, and how an Indian owner can prepare before the tools reach their account. It is based on Google's India blog post and Google's Gemini help page on connected apps, both read on 23 October 2026.
What happened: Google adds a business hub to Gemini
- Google's India blog post of 21 October 2026, written by Vishnu Sivaji, Senior Director of the Gemini App, announces "a new business landing page" in Gemini. Google calls it a central hub where owners can "build their brand, analyze finances, understand customer insights, and more."
- The same post says Gemini can be connected to Google Business Profile, Google Ads and Google Workspace, and to outside apps: Adobe, Canva, Dropbox, Shopify, Wix, Zoho and Xero.
- Owners can define a brand style by uploading their website, brand kit, fonts or colour palettes. Google says Gemini "retains this visual style" and uses its image model Nano Banana 2.1 to make matching images for launches and campaigns.
- Google says Gemini can turn "messy spreadsheets, receipts, and purchase records" into clear financial charts and interactive models.
- On timing, the post says the landing page, the marketing and finance skills and the new connected apps "are beginning to roll out in the coming days globally for all Gemini app users."
- Google's help page on connected apps says that on a computer you add or disconnect each app yourself under Customize and then Connectors, and that connected apps are not available on gemini.google.com when the Keep Activity setting is off.
What is not known: the exact day these tools reach accounts in India, whether any part has usage limits or needs a paid plan, whether the business page works in Hindi, and what Gemini can read or change inside each connected app. The post does not say.
Why it matters for a small business
Many owners already run their work in the apps Google named: Business Profile for reviews and Maps, Zoho or Xero for invoices, Canva for posts, Shopify or Wix for the online store. If Gemini can work across these from one place, routine jobs such as a festive offer poster in your own colours or a quick picture of last month's sales could take minutes instead of an evening.
The same feature carries a risk. Connecting an AI assistant to your ads, your store or your accounts means letting it see customer details, prices and money records. A chart built from a messy sheet can also look neat and still be wrong. In our view, the tools are worth trying, but slowly: connect little, and check every number before you act on it.
Who should care
- Shop and service owners who look after their own Google Business Profile and reviews
- Online sellers on Shopify or Wix who make their own product images and posts
- Owners who keep accounts in Zoho, Xero or spreadsheets and want a simple monthly picture
- Small teams that already use Gemini or Google Workspace every day
What changes for you
| Task | Before | After the rollout, as Google describes it |
|---|---|---|
| Marketing images | Upload your logo and colours again for each request | Save your brand style once; Gemini keeps it for later images |
| Money picture | Build charts from sheets and receipts by hand | Ask Gemini to turn them into charts and models, then check the figures yourself |
| Business apps | Open each app on its own | Connect Business Profile, Ads, Workspace and apps such as Zoho or Shopify to Gemini |
| Starting point | A general Gemini chat | A business landing page as your hub |
According to Google's help page, you add connectors yourself, one app at a time, and can disconnect them later. The same page has a separate part on Google services that Gemini uses information from automatically, so read that part too.
How to get ready before the tools reach your account
Our suggested steps:
- Pick one job you want help with first, for example offer posters, replies to reviews or a monthly sales picture. Do not start with everything.
- Put your brand kit in one folder: logo, two or three colours with their codes, font names and your website link. Google says this is what Gemini learns your style from.
- Decide which apps to connect, starting with the least sensitive one, such as Canva, before your accounts software or your store. Our guide on customer data privacy and AI tools helps you sort what is sensitive.
- When the tools appear, connect apps from a computer: on gemini.google.com click Customize in the sidebar (or More, then Customize), open Connectors and click Add next to the app. To remove an app, use More options and then Disconnect.
- Test the finance feature on a past month you already know well. Compare Gemini's totals with your own books before you trust it with a new month. Our expense tracker guide shows a simple way to keep that record clean.
- Agree a short team rule: who may connect business apps to Gemini, and that bank details, passwords and full customer lists are never pasted into a chat. See simple AI rules for your team.
